Columbia TriStar

Whenever I'm watching the opening credits of a Columbia Tristar movie I have a little chuckle to myself - this results in odd looks from the people around me. Unfortunately I can't explain the joke to them - it's really not that funny anyway - but my niece got it.

You see whenever I see the woman holding the torch aloft I want to say "Look, it's Moroni's wife." But to the unindoctrinated it means nothing and to the successfully indoctrinated (not that I tend to watch movies with mormons anymore) I would probably be accused of blasphemy.

Next time you're watching a film and she's up there, I hope you think of me and chuckle too. Then I won't feel so alone in my foolishness.

The wrong kind of sign

Eww. I was sitting on a train coming back from the footy the other night. The people in the seats on the other side of the aisle got up and left and when I looked across I saw what they'd been sitting on. I bet you're thinking chewing gum or something like that. It was one of those Mormon post card pictures. i recognised it because I used to have it - in a frame! It's Jesus talking to Mary when he's been resurrected. Well the Mormon interpretation thereof. I just astounds me that they seem to be everywhere.
